　　约翰．斯特奇斯导演的《龙争虎斗》，是以西部著名警长威厄普的英雄事迹为题材，本片为其续集，但换了詹姆斯．加纳、罗伯特．瑞安主演。剧情承接墓碑镇的一场大决斗，厄普兄弟在死党达克的协助下，将大恶霸艾克林顿绳之以法。威厄普在片中被塑造成心中充满困扰的角色，而非所向无敌的英雄，因而使加纳的演出更具深度。他在压轴的惨胜后飘然远去，渗透出一种无奈之情，在西部动作片中并不多见。金像奖影帝强沃特于成名前在此片中饰演一个小角色。
